[It's not quite midnight when the text appears, but it's certainly not what most people would consider morning yet. The wording is direct and to the point, no reference to their last encounter.]
[Thanks to her rather random sleep schedule J's awake when a faint light flashes on her MID to inform her about the new unread message. She opens the message, genuinely surprised to see that it's from Rinzler. It's been a while since their last meeting and even that one didn't exactly go that well. Her so called 'victory' had only left a sour taste in her mouth.
She doesn't answer right away but instead stares at the message with a frown on her face. 'Damaged functions'. Again such vague words. It's way too early for this shit.]
[J's not the only one harboring some bitterness, and it's probably for the best she can't hear the irritation that edges into Rinzler's noise. Is the user really that stupid, or just attempting (more) disdain?
He doesn't have the time or patience. The program reformats the message as simply as he can.]
[That's much better. J feels little satisfaction seeing him wording it again and making it more easier to understand -- more human if you will.
But, oh. There's another pause when J only stares the message, letting the information sink in. She could have her voice back.
J has vague memory of someone saying something like this to her before -- when she had woken up from cryo without her voice for the first time Bruce had suggested that he could go see captains with her. She wishes now that she had paid more attention to him back then.]
[Miller, specifically, though Rinzler doesn't see any need to share that detail. If the admins here could replace missing limbs, there's little question they could restore damaged vocals—or come up with a closer substitute, at least.]
But there's another thing that's making her wonder: that Rinzler's the one telling her this. Why? He hadn't seem to feel any remorse during their last encounter and somehow J doubts that has changed.]
[Threat. That's actually kind flattering.. in a very a wicked way.
The second statement upsets her but she doesn't argue about it. She's upset that there had been the intent that he had wanted her dead and that he had hurt Peter. But it had been her choice and even though she hadn't been thinking clearly back then she knows there wouldn't have been any other outcomes for the situation.]
[A wave of anger and hate hits J, bringing up a bile up to her throat -- almost suffocating her. How does he dare to say something like that. She doesn't know what's going on between him and Peter and honestly speaking? She doesn't care. But how does he dare to claim that Peter -- and her-- deserved to die.
There's another pause before J manages to write him a reply, hands shaking from anger.]

feeling regret ??

[In contrast to the last answer, this one shoots back immediately.
Regret is pointless. And even if this interaction might serve just as little purpose, he's not giving the user something else to hold over his head.]
