[J, in return, quickly shoots out her other arm, grabbing the front of his collar and uses him as a support as she pulls herself back up. Even through her numbing drunk state she can feel an aching spot forming on her back. There would certainly be a bruise next day.
Breathing heavily, still recovering from the surprise, she looks at him with blaming eyes. Has he never heard of asking before? But then her gaze drops down on his collar, which she's still holding on and notices the marks of red lipstick.
Oh. Any signs of disapprove disappears from her expression, making room for an amused smile.
[ Almost stumbling forward onto the stairs with her, with the way she grabs a hold of his collar. He slaps his free hand on the wall to catch his balance, returning her blaming look with an indignant one of his own.
It's her sudden smile that catches him off-guard. He glances down at himself, having noticed something on him had amused her. Spotting something pink smudged on his unbuttoned collar, he quickly reaches up to tug it out and inspect it. Oh. It's lipstick. Is that what she's grinning at?
Letting his collar go, he fixes his attention back onto her with a dry look. It's not a very convincing dry look, though, because that smile she's giving him is honestly disarming. In fact, he lets out a relenting sigh before quirking his brow and his lips in a wry smirk. ]
She places the cigarette back to between her lips so that she can place her hand on the step, fingers curling around the edge to keep her steady as she leans in. Wearing an amused grin she reaches and grabs his collar with her free hand, tugging him closer as she rubs the lipstick stain with her thumb.
Instead of coming off the stain only spreads a little around the fabric of the shirt underneath her finger. She shakes her head with a tongue in her cheek before letting go off him. At times like these she really wishes she could laugh.]
[ Oh, c'mon, man, Jesse is thinking as she tugs him closer. He's not really any stranger to situations like this: some woman he doesn't know pulling him close, or some woman he doesn't know that he's pulling close. So, he just goes along with it regardless, heaving a sigh with a small roll of his eyes as she inspects his collar.
When she finally lets go, he lets her arm go and rests his hand against the wall with a slouch while looking at her. ]
Yeah, okay. You got me. Funny ha-ha and whatever.
[ Does he seem as bothered as he did a minute ago, though? Nah. She's got his attention now, at least, that's for sure. ]
C'mon. Only fair to share, ain't it?
[ The cigarette, he means, and he looks at it pointedly to indicate so. Maybe he's saying that more nicely than the last time, though. Maybe even a little coaxingly this time. ]
The mood is getting more relaxed as he gets less tense, or at least that's what she thinks. Even though she's let go off his shirt already she doesn't pull away but instead stays leaned in close, swaying a little on the step. The drunken imitation of confident smile stays on her lips as looks down on her fingers, which some now had a pink colored tips thanks to the lipstick, and puts all of her focus on grabbing the cigarette and taking it off her lips.
She cocks her head to the side slightly, appearing to be cute and curious at first, and then blows a smoke towards his face. She tries to make it a ring but fails majorly, smoke coming out just as a messy cloud.]
[ If there's anything most people can be quick to work out about Jesse, it's that he's pretty easily led by his dick. And why not? It's always a welcome distraction, from anything Jesse doesn't want to think about. So, it's fair to say that this woman leaning right in his space like that, seeming to want his attention, is what keeps his attention fixed on her.
Until she "shares". Blows smoke in his face. Jesse gives her a tilting "seriously?" look with a snort under his breath that's verging on amused now. ]
Dunno if that's called "sharing" wherever you're from, but that's generally called "being an asshole" where I'm from.
[ Sounding nowhere near as confrontational now, despite his words. Fine, though. She's got his attention enough now that he'll play along. He slouches against the wall, indulging her with a boyishly searching look. ]
[Oh. Teasing is pretty much J's default mood, for most part anyway, and everyone who knew her could verify that claim. And if there's someone who can keep up with the flirty act even when they're minutes away from passing out from the mixture of nausea and headache along with having hard time to make out anything from the spinning surroundings it's definitely J.
He's speaking too fast for her to keep up with the meaning behind his words, his voice only barely registering to her head. But it doesn't matter. She can see the way he's looking at it and that's not a bad look, at least she thinks so. He might not be anything close to her 'type' but she does love the attention.
She keeps leaning even closer and closer. The confident smile is unwavering -- even when she accidentally puts her weight too much on the front and loses the control of her balance once again, falling ahead and her head bumping on his shoulder.]
[ That confident smile she's fixed on him while leaning in closer and closer only serves to disarm Jesse even more. Is she trying to hook up with him? Does it matter? Because while hooking up with somebody else isn't exactly what he had in mind not more than five minutes ago, it's in the forefront of his mind now. And why not? The only other distraction from everything that's as intoxicating as sex is meth, and who is Jesse to deny distractions like that? His eyes drift down to her mouth and he runs his tongue along the bottom on his lip in what might seem like anticipation--
And then he's suddenly grappling with her, hands dashing up to clutch at her shoulders as she staggers into him. ]
Hey, hey. Whoa. [ He gets a hold of her, manages to steady her. Any interest he might have in letting this random encounter go further is overshadowed with the reality check that she is drunk. Far drunker than him. ]
Look, c'mon, sit down. Sit down. [ Directing her to take a seat on the steps behind her. ] You're crazy drunk, you realise that? You also don't say much for a drunk, either.
[ Or anything, for that matter. He realises, belatedly, that he hasn't actually heard her utter a word. Weird for a raging drunk person. ]
[Oh, he's only now catching up with her lack of voice? Not the sharpest pen in the case is he.
It's been such a long time since the last time J actually said anything. While the cause for her current condition is something she'll never forget in her life, no matter how drunk or high she is, at the moment she's having hard time to remember when it had happened. It really feels like a lifetime ago and she's not so sure anymore what even were her last words. But just because she's been robbed off her voice doesn't mean she's not capable of using words. Communication with still brought some difficulties but she knows it could be much worse, too. Really, the MID has been such a lifesaver for her.
But he's right about her being drunk. She really is. So much that so far the thought about opening her MID and writing him. Though, then again, she probably wouldn't even be able to form coherent words in her current state.
She let's him to place her back on the step, snickering at him soundlessly as if he had just said something hilarious. She keeps having difficulties to supporting herself and staying still. In her amusement brings her fingers back to the her mouth to take another smoke out of the cigarette --- only then noticing that she's dropped it somewhere on the ground.
Oh shit.
J thinks about looking for it to pick it up but somehow it feels too troublesome and mundane task. So instead she points at him with her finger and then taps clumsily her lower lip twice.]
